voltage drop 92-960 900

my last battery went dead after 1 year. could it be because i juiced it while doing compression test? any way i replaced it was under warrenty.

i installed a volt meter under the radio. the volt meter reads about 14.7 in the morning when the car is first started. it starts to drop as i drive and then after 1 hour of highway drving it sits at 13.9-14v. didnot get a chance to drive more than 1 hour so dont know the results. but the voltage dropped if i turn on the heater fan and defogger.

is this normal or alternator is getting weak or something else?
