Two simple Non-Volvo questions (hopefully)

The Cressida has a climate control system with a button/knob to adjust temperature. Try turning this button up to the high temp range and turn on the inside fan. This will allow coolant to enter the heater core.
Also, the engine temp has to be warm for the heater to work. I find the Cressida takes a long time to warm up in cold weather.
If you can hear bubbling inside the dash when the engine is first started and reved, could be the head gasket is leaking and letting in air in the cooling system -- a common problem with Cressidas.
