745 Wagon Stalls in Heavy Rain Snow and Carwash 700 1991

Ive had an on going problem with my 91 wagon, I love the car but this is driving me batty.

It started stalling in wet weather in January. It will stall and not start for about 5 - 8 minutes. I can crank it and it will either not catch or just start to catch when I let go of the key after cranking...then it will catch.

Ive replaced the distro, rotor, wires, ign coil (it was cracked), and tranny speed sensor (the wires were frayed and wiggling them killed the engine)..

Now in the rain yesterday after coming off the highway and into traffic where I had to stop the idle became rough and the engine seemed to miss every 6 - 8 seconds at ilde....

After driving like this for a while at 60 km, it died at the lights, which is what it has been doing all along... idle gets rough and then the RPMs drop and the engine dies... I've seen postings about a hall sensor in the distro on an older model, is ther a hall sensor on the 91's or is the tranny speed sensor supposed to supply the ign timing marks??

On the 91's what other sensors are there that could be getting flooded ?
..anything on the side of the transmission? or low on the engine?

Is there anything in the ignition system that I've missed. - ?

Also, what does everyone recommend to clean the throttle body?? Carb Cleaner ok??

The wiring all looks ok, I don't see any mechanical damage in the engine compartment, is there any wiring under the car??

Thx
Dans
