Reading The Volvo Boost Gauge 700

Hey guys,

I have been messing with my wastegate to get some extra boost.

Can someone help me with regards to the boost levels on my car?
Firstly, it is an 88 Volvo 760 wagon with the B230FT.
Now, my boost gauge is integral to my tach with 50% of the gauge black and the other 50% white (vacuum and boost I would assume?)

My question is:
What are the numerical boost values associated with this gauge. Meaning, when the gauge is at the top of the boost area, how much boost is being produced?

The reason I ask is because I swapped from a Mitsu to a Garrett turbo. If I mash the pedal, the gauge will only go to about halfway through the white or boost area. Last night, I adjusted my wastegate and now I can get it up to almost the top of the white area. Is this correct? Should there be enough boost to make the gauge go almost to the top or have I overdone it?

Thanx
Bernie
