As far as the brakes go, I'm sure you'll be fine with just a pad upgrade for now, well highher perf. brake fluid as well. But generally speaking with the 200hp that you'll be putting out you should be fine, and then when you end up looking for more resistance to fade just some vented front rotors with new calipers should be good. I know what you mean on the pricing of the earlier SR20DETs, my friend and I are planing on eventually getting around to doing the swap sometime in the not so close future. The only thing that i can think of specifically is the bottom of the SR hitting the subframe... So when you go to the J/Y next make sure you check out the height of the engine and try to figure out relatively where it will be sitting. (i'm sure you already had this stuff in mind, but just in case...) OH, and another thing, the driveshaft for the SR20 is going to be more than two times the diameter of your stock one. Maybe almost three times the size. I questioned the strength of our driveshafts when i first got a look at my friends 240SX's driveshaft...
Then as far as the suspension and swapping in something else, well, that's a ton of work, and I think you know this already, being as you're doing something that so far hasn't been done as far as we've heard. The front of the car has no chance of being converted to the Nissan setup unless MAJOR modifications to the 140s body and frame and steering, etc. I'd say your better bet would probably be putting the 140 body on a Sivia chassis, which in itself i don't think is really feasible because the body of the 140 includes the frame. So, in any case you will be undergoing major modifications if you want to equip. the Nissan stuff. And yes it is true that there are tons of adjustable parts out there for them, my friend and I have adj. coilovers, adjustable shocks, adjustable rear control arms, and the list will continue to grow. They also have tons of braces, more braces are available for them than any other car i have ever seen. Usually they are for drifting so your car can be more predictable and stable. As far as the 140, i think it may be better off running stock stuff, well, with improved springs and shocks and whatnot. But then we run into the problem of the rearend... I don't know what to tell you there. You could stick with it, for now that is, as you said, because you will be running about the same amount of power as a slightly tuned Supercharged b20. As soon as you start tuning the SR a little bit, I don't know man. But I do know that you can source a LSD, well, from John Parker and i don't know who else. The topic has been discussed before...
I think that's all that i thought of for now, but in any case, i'll let you know if i can find anything else of help. Maybe we can find some more info on the guy in Thailand i think it was, that installed the CA18 into his 140... Peace man
