IAC clean/ test and TPS click 200

I found this in search...

"You can test them by grounding them out. On the 1986 that I have there is a two wire test lead on the drivers side fender. If you ground out the blue wire you can see if the motor works."

Does this mean slip the test lead onto two of the three pins on the IAC motor? first one pair then the other?

So far I cleaned the moving parts then tested for continuity.
Another post suggested contact cleaner for the motor and the throttle position switch.
Apparantly hearing the "click" on the tps doesnt guarantee it's o.k.
could be bad wiring harness

thanks
Robert
