94 940 Turbo issues 900 1994

I have my 94 940 turbo on the market, and thought I had a buyer. The potential buyer took the car to a local garage for a pre-purchase checkup, and was told the following:
1. Needs a new exhaust manifold and gasket, for $1221.95;
2. needs a new alternator assembly for $497.95; and
3. Needs a new valve cover gasket for $116.95. The buyer backed out of the deal.

These fees seem excessive, especially for the valve cover gasket. Moreover, I have not had any problems with the charging system. The shop indicated there was no charging voltage; however, the car is now running (for an hour, so far) in my driveway, with the lights on,and seems fine. I have not had any charging problems in the past. Further, I can not detect any exhaust leaks, at the exhaust mainifold or elsewhere. Does this seem suspect? Are the quoted repair prices high? Thanks for your input.
