Volvo Stock Audio Amplifier 900

Hey Everyone...

Got the 940 all squared away with the power sunroof switch and headliner, got the t-belt done and a few other PM things, and now I'm wanting to install an aftermarket stereo with a CD player. ( I haven't purchased a casette tape since 1985)

I've got a '92 GLS with the six speaker sound system, and I want to install a new head unit and speakers. It's my understanding that the 940 GLS' have a standalone amplifier to drive the six speakers? Have I been mislead?

If not, where is it, and will it work with any old head unit that has RCA outputs?

I'm just getting my list of materials ready for the stereo project, and need to know if I need a new amp as well, and where to find the old one if it comes to it.
