Q regarding ignition wires 200 1986

There is on the board a recent post that, IIRC, said that there are two types ignition wires for the B230F. One has resistance of 9,000 ohms per foot, the other type has 900 ohms per foot. The specification changed to the 900 ohms/ft in 1987 or 1988.

Never heard of that before, but since I have a 1986 244 and a 1988 244, I want to be sure that I have the correct wires on each.

Easier for me would be to use the same spec on both cars, and that would be the 900 ohms/ft. spec.

The 1986 is up for emissions test, and the trial test flunked on NOX. I am preparing to make repairs to pass, including cat, ignition wires+cap+rotor, new FPR, maybe new 02 sensor. Thus the Q regarding wires.

Side Q, can I test ignition wires with an ohmmeter? Reading divided by feet?

Thanks to all,

Bob
