Front strut bump stop and boot 200 1989

When I did the front brakes I noticed the drivers side bump stop has slid down to the bottom. How is it 'mounted' to stay at the top?

Also, Am i correct to assume the boot rolls around the bottom lip of the bump stop to stay in place?

I want to know what else to buy before doing the struts... I need boots but what about the bump stops? They physically look fine, except the driver's side doesn;t sty at the top.

Thanks in advance,
Greg
