Plastic dash cover adhesive

Greetings,

I recently purchased a used plastic dash cover so as to hide the numerous cracks in the dash of my '85 wagon. Being a used item, it came with no instructions other than a sticker on the back side warning that "adhesive must be placed only along the edges of the cover". I am waiting for the air temperature to warm up sufficiently to install this item. What type of adhesive should be used? And does anyone have any personal experiences or warnings with installing one of these dash covers that they might relate?

Thanks in advance,

Tony Fontaine
