Engine ventilation and such 140-160

Thanks for that. Unfortunately here in New Zealand the first models sold by Volvo were the 240 series. Only a handful of 140s around, and it is hard to find a scrapped one. Fortunately, although the country is very "green", there are not yet emission tests. Probably because cars are so cheap and you can easily import them yourself, that most people drive relatively new cars. Emission testing will be introduced in 1 or 2 years, but for my age car it will only be a visual check for oil burning. But thanks for the info on the carbs. I'll just leave it as is, and sometime correct the float level (at the moment one carb boils over when turning off a hot engine, because I've adjusted the float high incorrectly when I've fitted new gaskets).
