82 fuel pump moaning 200

I am hearing an intermittent moaning sound on startup over the last month or so on my B23E. It doesn't seem to affect much and it goes away after a few kilometres. The only thing I am noticing is that the car does not start up right away as has been its habit over the last eleven years of ownership. I now have to hit the starter button a couple of times before getting underway.

Is this a sign that the prepump may be about to fail? Or should I just ignore it. Car has 300,000km on it now and I did replace the fuel pump a number of years ago now.
