140/240 steering column swap? 140-160

I have a '74 145 that had power steering until I swapped the manual gear box and column from a '68 145. The column took a bit of rigging to make it work. I still don't feel exactly safe with a column the I "modified" and drilled into. My question is will a steering column from an '85 240 (I have one an hand) fit in a 140 with only minor modifications? I don't want to drill into the column core like last time to get the steering lock to work. Everything else was ok. I've got a 240 momo hub and the 140 switches and would like to upgrade to 240 switches.
