how do you get the frost color out of your headlight cover 200 1988

I'll have to admit, two new ones really do perk up the looks of my 88 245. I put them on first thing after I bought it last year (the originals and the reflectors had done their duty), and I guess every time I walk across a parking lot towards my car I notice how much "newer" and detailed they make my 165,000 mile wagon look. About $140.00 (ebay after markets), but now in hindsight I consider it money well spent. I did buy some "pristine" used units to replace similarly bad lights on my 88 F150, and was very disappointed to receive two headlights that were as bad as mine (his photo was non-definitive, small, and I relied on his description). No refund, no reply, I now consider that a $100.00 education expense. Just a word of caution if you try to save by buying used.
