Are you putting in an M46 (4spd + OD, push button) or the M47 (true five speed) ? You still need the LH2.4 flywheel......I was just wondering . My swap was the M47.

Oh, I read/ heard differant views re auto's rear axle and how the ratio's are different (they are). I kept my auto's rear axle. I have a very quick and short 1st gear, the others pull like mad...really nice off the line !!

On long haul's, I get 28 - 30+MPG. I tend to push hard, but light on the throttle. In short, get to speed plus (10+ posted) ASAP and then let the Brick just sip the petrol !! Responds very nicely, when needed, with just a little throttle input.
