ECU Problems 700 1990

Highly unusual, but not impossible. Restart problems are usually due to:
-fuel injection relay solder cracks
-radio suppression relay failure and solder cracks
-rpm sensor failure.

Try following FAQ instructions on the fuel injection relay and see what that does. For shorts, you are going to have to trace every ECU input wire and inspect for a short. Start with a continuity tester and find out whether any are shorted at the ECU connector. Use the Volvo OEM wiring diagram ($25 from Volvo, see the FAQ).
