Fuel pump relay failure 200

My fuel pump relay on a 83 turbo 245 failed due to the solder trace melting on a the main input power interface. I have read about this issue with solder failures but has anyone ever measured the temp the relay body/coil operates at?. I replaced mine with 2 other newer relay assemblies and both exhibit the same high temperature on the relay metal body/coil. Mainly what I am wondering is if this is a design issue with amperage rating of the relay contacts or coil. Or do I have another problem in my wiring.
I do not blow any fuses and the pumps are newer drawing less than 9 amps total.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, john
