Loud vibration from underside, trans? 700 1990

Hey all;

I have a 745 turbo with 250k. I had the trans (aw71) rebuilt just over 1 year ago. Today as I was pulling into a parking lot, the car started making a loud low rumble. It sounds a lot like a loose torque converter but I checked that already. When you get out of the car and open the hood it's barely audible from the front. Trans fluid was a little low (.5 quart) I topped it off with no change. the sound continues quietly in D if you are sitting still but seems to go away in N. Though if you raise the RPM in N it comes back. It also seems to be RPM speed related because if you speed up enough to shift the sound lessens slightly. Also when coasting up to a light, the sound goes away completely. Recently (3-5k) I've done new timing belt and new mounts. Anyone have any suggestions?

Simon
