Seat foam repair...???

Has anyone been successful yet at repairing the seat foam used in our cars? Obviously the problem is finding something that will actually stick to the foam. I am in the process of rebuilding some seats for an 89 244 and the foam is torn in the usual places along the uprights of the seat back.

Has anyone ever tried "Foam to Foam" ? I talked to an artist in my company's shop today who said they use that in some applications when they have a need to adhere foam. I'm afraid the stuff they use is the typical upholstery foam that isn't as dense as the Volvo cushions. I will check out the product when I get into the shop next weekend. He said they have also used the foam in a can to stick pieces of foam together.
