E-bay does not cotton to shenanigans so it something looks fishy they jump allover it. I recently sold a Volkswagen but the buyer flaked (family stuff he said, whatever, I kept the $100 deposit). So I may re-list it too. If that happened a time or two and he had a reserve price that wasn't met it can easily be listed several times with no monkey business... of course, buyer beware!
E-bay also has connections to professional inspectors who can look over the car for you.
E-bay good if you know the market and the parts. Very bad if you are clueless (like a swap-meet with pictures).
