TB Cleaning 700 1985

I am currently short on time and wanted to know if it was OK to spray some FI cleaner in the general location of the hinges on the throttle trap (butterfly) instead of taking the whole thing off to properly clean it? When I disconnected the main hose to check inside it didn't appear to have much build-up and what residue was in there was very clean.
Also, I realized I didn't mark the actuator rod when taking it off and wanted to know if I should be wary of the obvious placement?

One more question since the black idle knob will be turned in the cleaning are there any headsup i should know?

Thank you all for any or all responses to the questions.
