Crazed Volvo Owner Builds Cockpit in Living Room 200

Ahh the joys of apartment living. I'm sure my neighbors think I've finally gone off the deep end.

Last weekend I gutted the interior of the 242. Unfortunately, because I live in a apartment, there was no place to work on it except my living room. Except for the door panels, I had the entire interior stuffed in here, front and rear seats, carpet, dashboard and all the assorted parts and pieces. The seat covers and carpets got a good scrubbing, as well as the headliner and door panels. Speakers were installed on the package shelf, the drivers seat got new foam and a used, uncracked dash was installed.

The material on my seats is in very good condition, but had faded a lot from the sun. At Kevin's (Detailer) suggestion, I used SEM Color Coat to spray the seats and carpet to restore the black color to the interior. I have to say, the stuff is pretty amazing. I expected that the fabric would feel stiff after being painted, but by following the directions on the can , the carpet and seat covers retained their original feel.

Many thanks to clbolt and daveshan for their help and encouragement and for the parts necessary to get my interior together.
