How to wire in an underhood lamp 700 1990

James,

My `90 740SE has the light as standard.
Have a look at the pic below, you should have the wire arrowed coming out of the loom, this is the feed to the light.
I doubt that Volvo bothered to produce two different looms depending on whether or not a light was fitted.



If you can`t find it I suggest you splice a wire into the sidelight circuit, then it can`t get left on and flatten the battery.
