Removing scratches from windshield 200

Some how the the wiper blade slip off the arm and now I have a one line rainbow on my windshield.Has anyone tried any of the polishes to remove scratches from the windshield.I know JC Whitney and Eastwood sell polishing kits.Have any of you had good results with this or any other product for clearing the windshield,fast,easy effective or time consuming,difficult,and poor results?
