m41 rebuilding - how tough? 120-130

I recently came across an M41 in many parts, in a handful of boxes. It was taken apart quite a while ago in an effort to repair a "grinding/noisy" fourth gear. The project was never finishe and I don't know how long it's just been sitting in parts. When it was taken apart, it was discovered that a couple of gears were pretty beat up and worn out. The synchros were not a problem it turned out, those were virtually new and not a part of the noise problem.

My question is, having never had any experience with transmissions AT ALL, how hard would it be to get this one back together and rebuilt properly? Would replacement gear parts be rare and hard to find as well as expensive? If I took it in to a transmission specialist shop, would it be reasonable to think that they could get it all put back together, serviced and ready to go? How much would that cost?

Pardon all the up-front questions... but just letting my mind wander...
