Exhaust ports (Exhaust Header etc 1800 ) 1800

"Everyone" says that opening up the exhaust ports should be one of the first, if not THE first things to do if you want to get a bit more power. Has anyone been brave enough to write a small "how-to" with drawings/photos etc? It would have to proven and repeatable. Not too difficult to remove some metal with a grinder but it needs to be taken from the right places. B20 guides are shorter than B18 so they can't have much done with them other than a bit of profiling. What about the sealing rings, keep or lose? JP or one of the other wizards aren't about to give up their secrets, but a bit of basic advice from "an expert" would help :)
Any offers?
