I am looking for a list of what the stamp numbers on an engine block mean 200

Um, that's a common misconception.

There were quite a few cars that bore the VIN of 264 models that came from the factory with B21F engines. I've had one.

Some cars had the VIN of 24x models, but came with the 6-cylinder D24 diesel as well. I've had a couple of those, too.

However, the original post says it is a 1982 GLE. The 4-cylinder 264s were all badged as GL, and only sold in 80-81, so you are probably correct in that respect. The factory-installed engine on an '82 264GLE would have been *either* a B28F (2.8 liter, V-6, gas) or a D24 (2.4 liter, I-6, diesel).
