120 amp bosch alternator on 100 amp 89 turbo mount? 700 1989

I was wanting to put more power into my electrical system on my 89' turbo,as I run a high output electric cooling fan.I would like to be able to run my fog lamps when the a/c and electric fan is on and have a margin of reserve.I noticed that some of the 1990 740 b234's had 120 amp alternators listed as an option,my other 740 with a b234 has only a 80 amp unit from the factory and appears to have the same case as the 100 amp unit on my turbo.Has anyone done the upgrade?
thanks in advance,
Scott
