Water in the exhaust at cold start. 700

I bought a 1990 760GLE V6 last night.
First thing that I noticed was that the water was a bit low. The previous owners were enthusiasts, but I'm not sure if thhey would have done anything on the car themselves so it might have just gone unnoticed.

Next thing that I noticed was that after sitting all night, there was a small amount of water being splashed out of the exhaust for the first few minutes after bein started up. Nothing huge, not torrents or anything.

The only reason why I'm so concerned is that our previous volvo (240GL) had a damaged head which woould let water into the chamber and cause som bizzare things to happen.

Currently, the 760GLE shows no signs of having strange idle or any irregularities in firing. Is there some way I can be certain that this car hasn't already sarted along the same path as the last?
