Bulb failure warning light acting weird 700 1991

My bulb failure warning light has been acting weird. It goes on intermittently, and when it does go on, the right taillight and brake light go OFF (while pressing the brake pedal), then it will go for weeks without doing it. I am going to take out the lamp and clean all connections, replace all bulbs in the taillights with Volvo OEM lamps that match each other and hope this does the trick.

But then, could it be that the bulb failure light is faulty?
