Power window regulator replacement 700 1992

I just aquired a 92 740 wagon. The driver side power window did not work which I knew about. I hoped for a bad switch or something simple. Upon removal of the door panel it is obvious a PO or his mechanic wired (I'm talking coat hanger) the window transmission to keep the window closed. The window motor will run but nothing happens. I picked up a motor/regulator from a pick and pull from a 91 740. It was held on by four studs. To my surprize the one on my 92 is riveted on. Appears the rivet spacing is the same as the stud pattern on the pick and pull motor/regulator. My question is if I drill out the rivets will the 91 motor/regulator fit and connect to the window?
