My wipers are turning on my dingy! Please help me with an idea! 200 1989

"So, I wrapped them in tape...I hope it works..."

Maybe yes, maybe no. Wrapping them in tape will stop (for a short time) the tendency for wires to short to ground and blow fuses. However, it will NOT stop the broken or frayed wires from touching each other and "cross feeding" power from one circuit to another.

For example, don't be surprised to find that one day you step on the brakes and the rear wiper sweeps.... Or you turn on the defroster and the radio plays... Or you turn on the headlights and the power locks engage... You'll name your 245 Christine...

Evan Reisner devised a clever workaround -- maybe he'll post a link.

The easiest solution is replacing the harnesses. I think they around $25, or so, and only take an hour to install. (The first one you do takes three hours, and then you become skilled at it...)
