P1800/Amazon Steering Wheel 120-130

I just bought a P1800 steering wheel (the groovy two spoke aluminium one) assuming it would drop straight onto my Amazon 131 steering column but the splines differ.What needs to be done to make it fit? Is the P1800 steering column in two sections? If so will the top half fit the Amazon bottom half?
