Rearended! Now what? 200 1987

My wife got rearended when driving home from work today. It is not as bad as it might sound: Sonja does not feel any neck pains, and the car seems to be alright. Here's what happened:

Sonja stopped the 244 at a roundabout, started to drive but stopped again. The car behind her, a brand new Audi 100 Avant, took off right into the trailer hitch. The Audi got a nasty "bumper" (hah!) damage, and the 244's hitch got some scratches. Sonja says it "felt like" a hard hit, but the speed was of course very low.

I have examined the car as thorough as I can without getting under it. The bumper has obviously not been hit -- no marks, and the bumper shocks have not collapsed. All the doors have perfect shut lines. The righthand side motor mount looks fine, I cannot feel any damages either. Sonja said the car drove fine afterwards, no new sounds from motor or gear.

The Audi didn't look too healthy though, apart from the damages to the plastic bumper (a deep dent and surrounding cracks) the steel or aluminium bar behind it got bent. The guy wants to settle without using his insurance, as he will lose bonus etc.

I don't think my car is more damaged beyond what a respray of the hitch will fix -- I'll do that myself. What I'd like to do though, is to get the guys at the Automobile Association's garage have a look at the hitch mount and the motor and gear mounts. (The accident will be reported to the insurance company regardless, as an assurance against future neck problems.)

Possible medical problems aside, is there anything apart from the two hitch mounts and those three rubber mounts I should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance,
Erling.
