91 240 Overdrive problems PLEASE READ DETAILS 200

I can't say whether your transmission is bad or not, but I do understand your frustration with transmission repairs. Automatics for 240s are generally great transmissions; I can buy good ones at my local pick-n-pull for $100 all the time. I'd install a used one before I'd spend a lot of money on repairs.

BTW, I noticed that you're from Lawrenceville. I broke down there once, in 1984. I was driving a 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II Cale Yarborough Special (how's that for a long car name?), and I stopped at Jim Osborne Reproductions to pick up some decals. The starter picked that exact moment to die, and one of the guys at the shop drove me to the auto parts house, and then installed the starter when we got back, and wouldn't let me pay him for it. That was a nice bunch of people.
