Vacuam line mystery....please help 200

That long hose is the vacuum advance signal to your ignition control unit.
It has to remain hooked up and never plugged or you will not get the proper ignition timing advance curve.
There should be no unhooked hoses or lines anywhere coming from the intake manifold. If there is, you've got a vacuum leak. Locate where the hose goes and replace it, or cut off the old end and plug it back on.
