Doubt it! 700

I've been using Rotella 15W-40 since my overhaul 218,000 miles ago. Change oil- filter every 3000-3500. looking inside the top cover all I can see is shiney metal parts, no oxidized oil. Also it only uses 1/4 quart between changes.
Look at the API rating to see if it has an SH or SJ (or something similar) rating. The "S" tells you it's rated for spark ignition engines while the "C" rating is for compression ignition (diesel) engines.
Many oils are rated for both engines. Fleets want to avoid the possibility of mix ups with separate oils for gas and diesel.
If a diesel will go 1,000,000 miles between overhauls it must be good stuff and good enough for your Volvo too!
