Is my alternator screwed? 200 1982

To refresh your memorys, the other day i was driving the 242GLT, and the battery, brake failure light, and parkign brake light started flickering. in an earlier post, a bunch of you said that the brushes were gone in the alternator.

Ok, so i pulled the alternator out today. Took it to the auto parts place to test, and here's what came up.

I'm assuming that it's a 70 amp alternator, "Rated output @ 12V" right?
ANd a few lines down from there it says "Maximum output :63"
and then "Test status: -lamp circuit problems"
Does this mean it's screwed? Brushes fix this? Or just get a rebuilt alternator?
I'm not too familiar with how alts work, and dunno if i'm comfterble opening one up.
Any advice?

John
