Help troubleshooting-Dash indicator lights illuminate-bad alternator? 900 1995

95 940 wagon, 107k miles, no history of electrical problems. 85 degree weather sunny florida afternoon, start car, idles/runs smooth, but several dash warning lights stay lit, including; battery warning, SRS, ABS, Brake, Parking Brake, Burned Bulb, and service lamp. Seems voltage was low. Stopped at nearby Auto Zone to have electronic gizmo hooked up. Confirmed battery ok, (it was only 6 months old), but alternator read only 12.2 volts instead of 13.8v. In otherwords, with the car running, it was only reading battery voltage because the alternator was not producing a voltage.

Bought a reman alternator for $90 US and installed. Car ran fine, no more indicator lights. Returned old alt for $70 core refund. One hour later (at night) head lights begin to dim, dash lights come on again..seems the new alt bit the dust.

Any similar experiences out there or advice? I turned in the original Japanese manufactured alternator and although I feel fairly certain it was bad, I am not to comfortable with the one I bought. Also, the original was 100 amps, reman only 80amps. I have power windows and locks, no sunroof and manual seats; nothing fancy.

thanks ahead of time.
