I am looking for a list of what the stamp numbers on an engine block mean 200

79 and below had the B27 engine. 80-82 had the B28 engine. There where some Diesels and rare 260s with the 4CYL engines but like I said these are rare. If your wondering if you have a B23F or the B28F check to see if you have a six cylinder or four cylinder engine. B23F is a 4-Cyl. B28F is a 6-Cyl. The B23F has the dist up front. The B27/28F has the dist in the rear of the engine block. If you need more help with the B28F let me know. I pride myself on knowing these engines front to back. Good Luck!

Sincerely,
