Wasn't the cat ... but the rear muffler. 200 1989

I posted a message about two weeks ago stating that I started hearing metal-like noises when I was idling and mildly accelerating. I had an iPD sport exhaust installed on my '89 240 about 2.5 years ago. My mechanic threw my car up on the rack and stated my cat was fine, but it was my muffler that was baffling (broken internal components). He would knock it, and the noises duplicated.

Anyway, I called up IPD and found out that the warranty for the entire system was *only* one year. I was ticked. They tried to get me a "good deal" on a replacement Starla turbo exhaust muffler for $56, but I declined.

Around town, the local CarQuest wanted $89 for the same Starla turbo muffler, and the Midas's and Meineke's wanted over $100... how ridiculous! I ended up ordering it from FCP Groton for only $40 -and- I got a set of new Bougicord wires w/coil. The whole price shipped was less than $88. I figured on spending $100 for a new cat anyway, so I figured, why not replace my 3 year old wires while I'm at it?

I'm just a bit upset about the lack of warranty for the muffler and exhaust system. Unbelievable.
