What would be a good Volvo for me? 200

Hey guys, My mom is looking for a new/used vehicle and posted this in the AWD forum but i'm also posting it here just because you guys are so active and most of you seem to own more then just 240's. Any info will be helpful, glad she is looking into a volvo.

Hi,
I am looking to buy a new vehicle. I drive an Ford Explorer right now that a piece if #$%^. So I need a good old reliable Volvo, my son recently got a 240 , his first car and loves it. I live in the mountains of WV and do a lot of rural driving, and drive 20 miles to work one way. It snows from Oct. to April (sometimes May) so I need four wheel drive. Any suggestions on the best car for these conditions? I am looking mostly at the station wagons. I would like one to last a long time.
