CAM Advance 200 1993

I installed the IPD VX Cam and adjustable cam gear in my 240 (very nice improvement by the way). Anyway, I also had the intake off the car to do a bunch of other work. After getting it all back together I discovered that the idle was just a little rough. I found that I cracked the flame trap so I fixed that. I also found a couple other intake leaks...loose or detached hose, etc.

Currently the idle is good, but not perfect. This is not my primary drive, so I don't remember how good it should be. The idle is smooth with an occasional little lump. My question is:

Does cam advance have an effect on idle smoothness. Right now I am running +4 degrees advance and am wondering if I should back off to +2.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ted (IROLLTURBO)
