Help Please 700 1989

Hi, I've been having problems with my 760 turbo for a while. It started with a mist or fog on the inside of the windshiled that could not be removed with the defrost mode, only by hand with a towel. This problem then turned into steam billowing from the vents intermittently. Last i checkd the heat and air both work, the problem remains this "mist" on the windshield and the steam at some points. The other problem which i read could be related is both the driver and the passenger floors are drenched in what appears to be coolent. Now i had run out of coolent and run the engine hot for a few days, about the same time the steam started. Now im flushing the coolent system and refilling it. My whole point is that i have heard that these are symptoms of a leaky heater core, could this be the case, or could it all come from mistreating (not refilling) the coolent system, and if so why would there be collent on the floors. Thanks in advance for anybody who can help.
Brian
