Annoying exhaust shield ringing.... 200 1979

I have read several posts about the annoying ringing related to the exhaust shield. However, now I can't locate those posts and I don't know what this exhaust shield looks like. I need to break it off and get rid of the ringing, or I may just go crazy. Its like having a school bell under the hood.

I was wondering if anyone has a picture of this stuff or can locate the previous posts on it....Thanks a bunch...Paul
