does the 6 disc changer in the 900 work with burnt CDs? 900

Hey all,

I was going to replace the stock CR 814 head unit and amp in my 940 with an aftermarket system... However, since the existing system sounds good enough for me, and is no doubt less attractive to would-be theives (we live in a crappy neighborhood. Hell, we just live in a crappy town, period.) I was thinking of just getting one of the original 6 disc changers that were optional on the car. I even think the OEM stereo has a better fit and finish, and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb and generally look "out of place" in the car. (Why are all aftermarket systems these days silver with blue or red lighting, anyway???)

I found several of the six disc changer units on Ebay for under $200.

One question though, has anyone who owns one of these units tried it with homemade CDs burnt on a computer? I remember I drove a car from the early 90s with a "first-generation" CD player, and it did not seem to like homemade CDs. It would skip and oft times would not play at all.

Most of my CDs are homemade. I don't keep originals in the car since I don't want them getting ruined and/or stolen.

Thanks again,
Fred
