Oil leak...just say it ain't the rear main! 700 1990

So I am now in San Antonio with my "new" 1990 760 turbo wagon. If you did not see my posts earlier I picked it up at an auction with little or no knowledge of it's condition.

On the 600+ mile trip here the car lost about 1/2 quart of oil. I say lost because I noticed a 5-6 drop puddle any time I parked it for over ten minutes. The puddle is on the centerline of the car and about even with the front wheels. There is a drip on the tranny between the access ports. The tranny and diff have oil on them. There are no other signes of oil leakage including on the insulation of the upper tranny tunnel.

This screams "rear-main-seal" to me, but I looking for other opinions.
