injector rail removal on 960 900 1992

I'm working on replacing the intake manifold gasket on my 1992 965. I also want to replace the oil trap, so I'm going to try separating the outer section first, then the inner, as indicated in the repair manual.

I'm stuck on what I thought would be an easy step. I've removed the three retaining bolts for the injector rail. The book says remove the rail with the injectors attached (carefully). I can get them to wiggle, but not budge significantly. I'm afraid to strong-arm it too much.

Does anyone have some advice? Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated as well. I've read some complaints about the difficutly in getting to the lower manifold bolt--should I try it from below?

Thanks much for the help.

Dave
