91 240 Auto shifter 'lock' - how to keep unlocked? 200 1991

When you said "fix" the interlock...do you mean replace the shift lock relay? I have a 93 245 with same problem, but have not sorted out what needs to be replaced yet. I did an "adjustment" to the shifter that was outlined in the Bentley Manual, but it did not help. I cannot find anything else on this except checking the fuses, which look good.
